Crimson and Gray Pull Away from Rio Piedras with Strong Second Half

MELBOURNE, Fla. (W. Basketball) – Florida Tech (3-0) though controlling many aspects of the first half only went to the locker room up 38-to-25 against a pesky University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras (0-1) team. When returning to the floor in the second half the Panthers immediately hit the Gamecocks with a run, which allowed Tech to pull away in a 78-to-48 victory. Junior Tamara Dowdell led the Panthers with 14 points, while four others also scored in double figures.

Panther Injury Report

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s Basketball) – Florida Tech’s men’s basketball team has a great 3-0 start to the season under its belt, but getting to that point has been interesting for head coach Billy Mims. Although there were high expectations for this year’s incoming class to begin with, the term “New Look Panthers” has taken on a whole new meaning from the start of the season in ways the coach had not expected.
