Tars Top Panthers, 99-79

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s Basketball) – Florida Tech had a rough time toward the end of the first half Wednesday night and things didn’t get any easier in the second as Rollins College (10-3, 3-0 SSC) defeated the Panthers (7-6, 0-3 SSC) 99-79 in conference action at the Clemente Center. Derek Hellemann led the home team with 22 in the effort.

Panthers Fall at Florida Southern, 99-86

LAKELAND, Fla. (Men’s Basketball) – Despite a 17-point edge in the first half Saturday night, Florida Tech (7-5, 0-2 SSC) came up short against Florida Southern (11-4, 1-1 SSC) in Sunshine State Conference action. Ryan Ballard led the way for the Panthers with 22 points, while Derek Hellemann posted a double-double of 18 points and a season-high 14 rebounds.

Moccasins' Last Second Shot Ends Panthers' Perfection

LAKELAND, Fla. (W. Basketball) – Florida Tech’s (11-1, 1-1) come-from-behind effort came up just short Saturday at Florida Southern (9-2, 1-1) where the Panthers fell 69-67. This was the first defeat of the season for Tech, which had won its first 11 games. The game was decided when FSC freshman Megan Dzikas hit the game-winning shot with 2.4 seconds remaining. Three Panthers scored in double figures against the Moccasins and were led by sophomore Lynisha Nelson with 15 points.
